You’re invited to my “Elements of Fiction” 2 day workshop

This workshop will focus on the central elements of fiction-plot, scenes and narrative. This workshop for writers with in-progress short stories or novels will focus on the technique of creating scenes that are dramatic, narrative that is compelling and revealing and a plot that keeps the reader interested. In the workshop we will read examples of published writing, discuss and critique participant’s stories and create new work. (lunch provided both days)

To apply for admission to the workshop submit a writing sample: submit a writing sample 5–10 pages of a fiction narrative (double spaced 12 font). Writing samples must be submitted to info@maritagolden.com or through the application form below.

Marita Golden is the best-selling author of over a dozen acclaimed works of fiction and nonfiction including the classic memoir Migrations of the Heart and the novel Long Distance Life. She has been a member of the MFA Writing Faculties at George Mason University, Virginia Commonwealth University and Johns Hopkins University. She teaches annually at the Norman Mailer Writer’s Colony. She has coached and mentored scores of writers who have successfully published their work.

Verification

Tuition is due upon receipt of your acceptance letter. Payments may be paid by certified check, money order, or online. Details about how to make payments will be included in the acceptance letter. Enrollment is not complete until tuition payment is made.

Cancellation policy: If enrollees are unable to attend the workshop, a course credit will be issued to be used for the same class at a later date. If workshop is cancelled by workshop leader, the class will be rescheduled.
